S.w.a.T. (Students with a Testimony)

Real Faith in Life - S.w.a.T. features
We're looking for articles BY and/or ABOUT Students with a Testimony.

Guidelines

  • S.w.a.T. articles can be by a student or by a youth worker or freelance writer who knows a particular student's experience of wrestling with some spiritual issue and the testimony involved. The focus should not be on the student but upon the issue, how the student found God's answer, and how this student's testimony can help others dealing with a similar issue.
  • Final length: 800 - 1,000 words typed, double-spaced
  • Put writer's name, address, telephone number, and word count in the upper left corner of page 1 of your article; also supply name, complete address and phone number(s) of church where student is a member.
  • If you have a story to suggest for someone else to write, you must supply the following information in order for your S.w.a.T. to be considered: student's full name, address, phone number(s), parents' names; church name, phone number; your own name and number.

Recent examples

  • Jonathan Gebhardt (sample issue): getting a Bible club started in his public high school, what he went through, how long it took, what the results were (written by Jonathan's youth pastor)
  • Lori Brammer (Fall 1999): testimony of how she became a "cyberChristian," witnessing on-line (written by Lori herself)
  • Matt Ware (Winter 1999-00): testimony about his athletic background and plans and how God has been at work despite his accident (written by a professional broadcaster)
  • Nathan Harmon (Spring 2000): a senior who gave testimony at his graduation despite being told not to do that by school administration (written by RBP staff)
